Bee Nice promise
Pollinator-Safe Tick Control on the North Fork
Bees and other beneficial pollinators are essential to the North Fork's ecosystem — and to us personally. Our owners maintain active honeybee hives, so pollinator-safe tick control isn't just a marketing line. It's the foundation of how we spray.
Why our formula is safe for bees
- Contact-only spray — affects only pests it touches during application
- No residual toxicity that lingers in the environment
- No systemic chemicals — nothing gets absorbed into the plant
- Plant-based botanicals ticks instinctively avoid; bees don't react the same way

pollinator-safe by design — because our owners keep bees.
How our technicians protect pollinators
- Trained to identify pollinator zones on every property
- Avoid active foraging areas and flowering plants during application
- Adjust timing when needed to keep bees clear of treatment
- Use only all-natural, contact-only sprays — never chemical pesticides
- Backed by our own beekeeping experience and commitment
Protecting pollinators isn't optional for The Tick Crew — it's part of who we are.
The full story and science behind our Bee Nice promise
Our tick control formula is designed with pollinator safety at its core. Unlike synthetic pesticides, our treatment is a contact-only spray — it affects only the insects it touches at the moment of application. It does not leave behind toxic residues that linger in the environment or move through plant tissue.
Once dry, our plant-based formula shifts from contact action to natural repellency. These botanical compounds are highly effective at discouraging ticks, which are extremely sensitive to certain plant oils and instinctively avoid them. Bees and other pollinators, however, do not react to these compounds the same way. Because of their different sensory biology and foraging behavior, dried residues do not interfere with their activity, navigation or health.
On top of the chemistry, our technicians are trained to identify and avoid pollinator zones, flowering plants and active foraging areas. That means our treatments target ticks — not the insects that keep the North Fork's farms, vineyards and gardens thriving.
Our promise is simple: effective tick control that respects the pollinators we all depend on.
